We decided to use a handwritten type to represent the energetic vibe of the borough. The design was a perfect fit for use on hoodies, joggers, yoga pants and shoes, with more items in consideration. Remembering Irene Cara- A Bronx Girl

Irene Cara was born in The BX on March 18, 1959. She made the most of her enormous talents becoming a Grammy and Oscar-winning actress and singer. She performed on Broadway, the big screen, and television in her meteoric rise to fame –which included an iconic performance in the film, Fame. She also possessed a phenomenal singing voice heard prominently on the title song of the 1985 film Flashdance. She left us much too soon in 2022, but we celebrate her on her birthday as a Bronx girl who made a name for herself in the world and fulfilled her dreams.
